This coming Saturday, the 14th we have two awesome educational talks you do not want to miss.
What better way to spend a morning learning about gardening and health? We have got you covered in both areas.
Starting at 10:30 a.m., we have guest speaker Bill Marsh. Bill will speaking and teaching how to design and build a home rainwater harvesting system.
With the awful drought Texas is currently experiencing, if you have a garden, a rainwater catching system should be on your "must have list".
If you are familiar with 17th St. Community Gardens in Georgetown then you have seen Bill's work in action.
At 11:30 a.m., will be our monthly nutrition talk. I will be speaking about food quality, food labels, and what you want to look for when shopping.
I will discuss the importance of food quality and why it matters to our and health and public wellbeing.
I will also go over the meanings of all the different labels we encounter when we shop for food. All natural, grass-fed, cage free, grain free, etc.
This can be very confusing and what we think we may be buying, we may not be at all.
We hope to see you this coming Saturday, but if you are unable to make it, please check out our online calendar for future talks.
To your health,
Sandra
