Full Day of Events this Saturday 3/30

Armenian Cucumber
Spring is here. We got our last "Easter Freeze" as predicted by local folk wisdom. Now it is time to get out in the garden and plant those warm loving fruiting crops we all covet. Last week we talked about growing the ubiquitous garden favorite - tomatoes. This week we'll cover a close second - the cucurbit family, which includes cucumbers, squash, pumpkins, melons & watermelons. Come out at 10:30am tomorrow, Saturday 3/30 for our weely free gardening class to learn more. We also just got in a new shipment of seeds for all the cucurbits as well as okra, beans, and a few other warm weather lovers.

After the gardening class, at noon, Cindy Harrington will be showing us how to cook some tasty dishes just in time for Easter Dinner. Her menu includes a Grilled Boneless Chicken Breast served on top of Butternut Squash Puree and Sauteed Swiss Chard and Mushrooms. For desert there is a Carrot Souffle. And for fun there will be Deviled Chicks!

Speaking of Easter, the Market will be participating in the city's Eggstravaganza by hiding Easter eggs throughout our gardens. Each child can bring 3 eggs they find to exchange for goodies in the Market from 11:30 to 2:30.
