January Garden Classes

Happy New Year!

We have some very exciting garden classes coming up this month. All Garden Classes are Saturdays at 10:30am in the Monument Market and free for anyone and everyone. You can sign up in the Market to give me an idea of how many handouts to print and chairs to set up, but feel free to come even if you do not get a chance to sign up first!

First, on January 7th is our monthly "This Month in the Garden" class where we'll go over all the tasks to have on you garden "To Do" list in January.

Our Second Saturday Guest Speaker for January is Master Gardener Bill Luedecke on the 14th. He'll be sharing his many years of Central Texas gardening expertise with us with a presentation entitled "It All Starts With the Soil" You can't have healthy plants without healthy soil! Start you gardening year off right by starting from the ground up. This will be a class to be sure not to miss!

Now that you've cared for you soil, enhance your garden planning with tips about Companion Planting on January 21st. Learn what veggies, flowers, and herbs grow well together, and which ones to keep apart in your garden.

January 28th we'll learn about Growing Potatoes. Valentines day is the traditional time to set out potatoes in Central Texas. Learn how to plant, care for & harvest your own tasty tubers!

And for a sneak peak into February's classes.... on February 11th, longtime Beekeeper Jimmie Oakley will be presenting a Intro to Beekeeping Workshop. This is sure to bee a treat!
