Two Soil Classes this Saturday, 2/23!

We have a full day planned for this Saturday. We want to help you get your garden off to a good start this spring by spending some time getting down and dirty about soil. The health of your garden is directly related to the health of your soil. Soil science can be rather complicated, especially here in Central Texas where our soils need some serious help, so we have planned 2 classes this Saturday to help you feel more confident about caring for your soil.

First, at 10:30am, Farmer Michelle will be talking about Preparing the Soil for a New Garden. We'll go over a variety of techniques for breaking ground and go over the basics about nurturing the soil.

Then at 3pm, Patrick Van Haren from Microbial Earth Farms will be joining us to go a bit more in depth about the specific problems our Central Texas soils face and what to do about it. His presentation will cover soil testing - why, how, and what to do once you have the results. Feel free to bring your soil test in to have it interpreted! Don't miss this one!
