You Can Eat That?!?

This Saturday's free gardening class is going to be a fun one. At 10:30am on Saturday 3/9, Wendy Leiva, a recent graduate of the Austin Permaculture Guild's Permaculture Design Course and Citizen Gardener instructor for the Sustainable Food Center, will be giving a presentation called "You can eat that?!? Edible Plants for Central Texas." This hour will describe a whole host of plants that are edible and to help expand our idea of what an edible garden can be. I'm excited to hear what Wendy will share with us!

At 12:00, Kristin Andrews will be cooking a Warm Bacon Spinach Salad and Balsamic Glazed Carrots. Kristin received her formal culinary training at the Le Courdon Blue Certified Texas Culinary Academy in Austin in 2005 and is currently working on finishing up her Bachelors degree in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin to earn the certification of Registered Dietitian. Her goal is to help individuals to build a health relationship with food by combining delicious meals and culinary intrigue while meeting nutritional needs and goals.
